4. Loss

[A pale young woman wanders into the village, twisting her hair round her fingers compulsively. She's hungry.


She's STARVING.

A whimper escapes her lips as she collapses by the fountain, and she calls out weakly:]

Spikey? Love sundae? The jaws can't bite; the claws can't catch.

[/Action]


[Drusilla has returned from death. Her DP is that she has lost the ability to go gameface and, therefore, to feed on victims using her fangs.]

[He offers his arms to her as if to support her should she need it. He'd do whatever he could.]

[She reaches up to take his arm, to use him to get to her feet.]

You're there. You're there like the crag of a mountain, or the shin of a sharpshinned hawk. Have you ever wondered whether you could cut yourself on a sharpshinned hawk? I wonder sometimes. If it would bleed.

[He watches her, thinking she's clearly delusional. His top priority is to get her somewhere where she can rest and where he can tend to her... but she doesn't seem to be hurt. Just hungry.

He lowers his voice, keeping it at a gentle just-above-whisper.]

I don't understand... please... just tell me how I can help you. I'm no good with riddles.

Bleed on me. Bleed into me. [She is practically begging him, now. Feed me. But Dru is hardly ever that straightforward when she talks, though, at times, she is capable of speaking quite lucidly.]

[He stares at her, unsure. Her delirium was one thing, but had she honestly just asked for his blood?]

A-are you serious? My blood? My actual blood? The red stuff, right?

[That might be a problem procuring... then again, he did have a hunting knife. Even so...]

I need it to dance. I need your red stuff or else I shall go straight to the dead-dust place once more. And I cannot.

[Her voice becomes quite plaintive. Blood. She craves it.]

[He takes out his hunting knife and quickly slices open his palm, hissing with a grunt and clenching his fist in pain before offering it to her.]

Go on. Take what you need.

[She does not hesitate but DRINKS. Oh, drinks deeply. Greedily. Drusilla clutches his arm in two cold hands as she takes from him what she needs.



She needs a lot.]

[He allows it, grunting in pain as he feels her drink, the sound so loud in his ears. Every instinct he has screams for him to pull away, but he resists. He would give her what she needed. It isn't long before he begins to feel wobbly.]

[He definitely feels dizzy at this point, teetered uncertainly.]

I---I think I need to lie down.

[This time it's her turn to support him. Drusilla will attempt to put an arm around him and keep him up. If he lets her, she will even lift him into her arms.
